Approach I undertake every project with one goal in mind: to create a spark. It’s not enough to simply convey information. I want to stimulate thought. I do it by first identifying that which is truly essential, then finding a way to help others relate to it. Sometimes I get there through research. Other times it’s an immediate, gut-level sense. More often than not it’s some combination of both, with liberal doses of creativity and brainstorming thrown in as needed. I enjoy collaborating with editors, designers, illustrators, and strategists to formulate written work that both supports and enhances the total package. I pursue my own creative vision while maintaining a constant focus on the big picture. Writing, after all, is communication. There’s no A without B.
